How to run an on-demand re-scan
The automatic weekly re-scan isn't the only way to get a fresh number — here's how the Re-scan now button and its monthly allowance work.
Every tracked brand's card has a "Re-scan now" button for when you don't want to wait for the automatic weekly cycle — right after you publish a fix, for example, to see if it moved anything yet.
The monthly allowance
On-demand re-scans are capped per calendar month, separately from your automatic cadence: 1 on Free, 4 on Solo, 10 on Starter, 30 on Agency. The cap resets on the 1st. Your sidebar meter shows usage and turns amber, then red, as you approach it.
What happens when you hit the cap
The button disables and shows the real ceiling-hit message for your plan, with a two-click path to the tier that raises the allowance — never a vague "upgrade to continue" with no specifics. Critically, hitting this cap does NOT pause your automatic weekly (or monthly, on Free) re-scan — that keeps running on schedule regardless of how many on-demand re-scans you've used.
When to actually use one
An on-demand re-scan is most useful right after you've made a real change — published a comparison page, added structured data, fixed a crawl block — so you can see the effect within minutes instead of waiting up to a week for the automatic cycle to catch it.
Head to your dashboard and re-scan a brand you've recently changed something on.
